5-Star Cheesy Breakfast Casserole

A comforting and satisfying casserole combining breakfast sausage, tater tots, and cheddar cheese, perfect for any meal.

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the breakfast sausage until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Spread the cooked sausage evenly across the bottom of the greased baking dish. Top with 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Arrange the frozen tater tots over the sausage and cheese.
  6. Carefully pour the egg mixture over everything in the dish.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the casserole.
  8. Bake uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes until the eggs are set and the tater tots are golden and crispy.
  9. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a healthier option, use turkey sausage or low-fat cheese. Can be made ahead of time by assembling the night before.
