Air Fryer Protein Bagels

Quick, protein-packed bagels made in an air fryer, perfect for breakfast or a healthy snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt (optional)
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons cottage cheese (2% or 4%)
  • 1 egg (optional)
  • Toppings: everything seasoning, poppy seeds, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour and baking powder in a medium bowl. If you’re adding salt, mix that in too.
  2. Create a well in the center of the dry mixture and pour in the cottage cheese. Stir until a chunky dough begins to form.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and gently knead it for about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into four equal portions and roll each piece into a log shape. Connect the ends to form bagels.
  5. Whisk the egg with a splash of water or milk and brush this mixture over each bagel. Sprinkle your chosen toppings on top.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C) and generously spray the basket with cooking spray.
  7. Arrange the bagels in a single layer and cook for 15-17 minutes, checking for doneness at the 10-minute mark.
  8. Let the bagels cool for about 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

These bagels can be stored at room temperature for up to two days or in the refrigerator for up to a week. For longer shelf life, you can freeze them.
