Apple Fritter Bites

Delightful bite-sized indulgences combining the warmth of cinnamon and the sweetness of apples.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
  2. Combine the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl and whisk until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently, leaving a few lumps.
  4. Fold in the diced apples, ensuring even distribution in the batter.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat, testing readiness with a bit of batter.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, frying each fritter for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Remove the fritter bites and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Consider using whole wheat flour or swapping fresh apples for pears. Store uneaten fritters in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days.
