Artisan Blueberry Goat Cheese Sourdough Bread

A delightful, tangy sourdough bread featuring fresh blueberries and creamy goat cheese for a harmonious flavor.

  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 350ml water
  • 100g sourdough starter
  • 10g salt
  • 150g fresh blueberries
  • 100g goat cheese, crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix 500g of all-purpose flour with 350ml of water until there are no dry patches. Let this sit for 30 minutes.
  2. Stir in 100g of sourdough starter, 10g of salt, and 1 tablespoon of honey if desired. Gently fold in 150g of fresh blueberries and 100g of crumbled goat cheese.
  3. Cover the bowl and let the dough ferment at room temperature for 4-6 hours, folding it gently once every hour.
  4. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it into a floured proofing basket. Cover and let rise for 1-2 hours.
  5. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C), placing a Dutch oven inside to heat.
  6. Once heated, transfer the dough into the hot Dutch oven, cover it with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Allow the bread to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

To store, keep at room temperature for 2-3 days in a paper bag or kitchen towel, or store in the fridge for up to a week. Freeze sliced for convenience.
