Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants

Delightful mini croissant sandwiches filled with melted cheese and savory ham, baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 mini croissants
  • 4 slices smoked cheddar cheese (halved)
  • ¾ pound deli-cut ham
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg white
  • Poppy seeds (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Slice each mini croissant in half horizontally and lay the bottom half in the baking dish.
  3. Place a half slice of cheddar cheese on the bottom of each croissant.
  4. Layer on a slice of ham, then top with another half slice of cheese before closing the croissant with its top half.
  5. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, yellow mustard, honey, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
  6. Spread this buttery mixture evenly inside each croissant sandwich.
  7. Arrange the assembled sandwiches snugly in the baking dish.
  8. In another bowl, whisk together the egg white with a splash of water. Brush this egg wash over the tops of the croissants and sprinkle poppy seeds on top.
  9. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
  10. Once done, remove from the oven and serve warm.
