Cheesy Ranch Potatoes and Smoked Sausage

A delightful comfort dish featuring tender baby potatoes, savory smoked sausage, and melty cheddar cheese with a zesty ranch flavor.

  • 1 pound smoked sausage (halal-certified, no pork)
  • 4 cups baby potatoes, halved or quartered
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (halal-certified)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional, for serving)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash the baby potatoes and cut them into halves or quarters based on their size.
  3. Slice the smoked sausage into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
  4. Combine the ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  5. Toss the halved potatoes with olive oil and half of the ranch seasoning mixture in a large bowl until well coated.
  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  7. Spread the seasoned potatoes evenly on the baking sheet.
  8. Scatter the sliced smoked sausage evenly over the potatoes.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the potatoes are golden and tender.
  10. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over everything. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
  11. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot, optionally with sour cream.

Notes

Allow the dish to cool completely and store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge. Can be frozen for up to 2 months.
