Chinese Chicken

A warm and flavorful dish of tender chicken thighs marinated in savory sauces and stir-fried with crisp vegetables, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken: In a large bowl, combine the chicken thighs with soy sauce, oyster sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Allow this to marinate for at least 30 minutes to build rich flavor – the longer, the better!
  2. Heat the skillet: Preheat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until it’s nice and hot.
  3. Cook the chicken: Add the marinated chicken to the hot skillet. Sear each piece for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until browned and cooked through.
  4. Add the vegetables: Toss in the sliced bell pepper, onion, and broccoli. Stir-fry for an additional 5-7 minutes until the veggies are tender yet still crisp.
  5. Season and serve: Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Serve your delightful chicken and vegetables hot over a bed of cooked rice.

Notes

For a beautiful presentation, garnish with sliced green onions or sesame seeds. This dish pairs well with pan-fried dumplings or spring rolls.
