Cinnamon Sugar Donut Bread

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk the melted butter, egg, milk, and vanilla extract until well blended in another bowl.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined.
  5. Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Mix the remaining 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon in a shallow dish while the bread bakes.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before rolling it in the cinnamon-sugar mixture while it’s still warm.
  9. Slice and serve either warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, substitute regular milk with almond or oat milk and the butter with coconut oil. Enhance the flavor by adding nutmeg or vanilla extract.
