Cinnamon Sugar French Toast Roll-Ups

A fun and delicious twist on traditional French toast, these roll-ups are crispy on the outside and warm and gooey on the inside. Perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat.

  • 6 slices of bread (white or brioche)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar with the ground cinnamon, then set it aside.
  2. Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until blended.
  3. Assemble the Roll-Ups: Take each slice of bread and flatten it gently with a rolling pin. Brush melted butter over the surface of each slice. Sprinkle generously with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Tightly roll the bread up into a cylinder.
  4. Cook the Roll-Ups: Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s well coated. Preheat a greased pan over medium heat and cook the roll-ups for about 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until they turn a beautiful golden brown.
  5. Serve: If you used toothpicks to secure them, be sure to remove them before serving. Enjoy these delightful roll-ups warm and fresh!

Notes

Serve with maple syrup, whipped cream, or fresh berries. For more flavor, try adding chocolate chips or banana slices inside the roll-ups before cooking.
