Croissant Muffins

Delightful croissant muffins that combine flaky layers and fluffy texture, perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a muffin tin or use muffin liners.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, mix until the texture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  6. Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until the tops are golden brown. A toothpick inserted should come out clean.
  8. Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

For different variations, consider adding blueberries, chocolate chips, or nuts.
