Easy Classic French Toast

A simple and indulgent classic French toast recipe that is perfect for breakfast or brunch.

  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 slices bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Syrup

Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, combine the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.
  2. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the butter, allowing it to melt and coat the pan.
  4. Place the soaked bread slices in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Stack the French toast on a plate, drizzle with syrup, and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use slightly stale bread. You can also experiment with flavors by adding orange juice or nutmeg.
