German Pancakes

Fluffy, billowy German Pancakes that rise beautifully in the oven, perfect for brunch or family breakfast.

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Place the butter in an ungreased 9×13-inch metal baking dish and put it in the oven to melt.
  3. Combine the eggs, milk, flour, salt, and vanilla extract in a blender. Blend until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the baking dish over the melted butter—do not stir or mix!
  5. Bake for 22-27 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the center is fluffy.
  6. Serve warm, topped with powdered sugar and a drizzle of syrup.

Notes

Avoid opening the oven door frequently while baking to prevent deflation. You can use milk alternatives like almond or oat milk for variations.
