German Pancakes

Fluffy, golden German Pancakes that puff up beautifully in the oven, perfect for brunch or cozy breakfasts.

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • Powdered sugar (for serving)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Place the butter in a 9×13 inch metal baking dish and let it melt in the oven.
  3. Blend together eggs, milk, flour, salt, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter over the melted butter.
  5. Bake for 22-27 minutes until edges are golden brown and pancake has puffed up.
  6. Serve immediately with powdered sugar and maple syrup.

Notes

For a twist, try using almond or oat milk instead of regular milk. You can also experiment with different extracts or add spices like cinnamon.
