German Pancakes

Fluffy German Pancakes that combine the goodness of pancakes with the elegance of a soufflé, perfect for any occasion.

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • Powdered sugar (for serving)
  • Syrup (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Place 5 tablespoons of butter in an ungreased 9×13-inch baking dish and let it melt in the oven.
  3. In a blender, combine eggs, milk, flour, salt, and vanilla extract; blend until smooth, about 30 seconds.
  4. Once the butter is melted, carefully pour the batter over it in the baking dish.
  5. Bake for 22-27 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and puffed up.
  6. Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar and drizzled with syrup.

Notes

For variations, consider adding cinnamon, lemon zest, or even chocolate chips to the batter.
