Hawaiian Roll French Toast

A delightful breakfast treat that combines soft Hawaiian rolls with a sweet egg mixture, creating a custard-like center perfect for any occasion.

  • 8 Hawaiian rolls
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half and set them aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
  3. Dip each half of the Hawaiian roll into the egg mixture, letting it soak for a few seconds.
  4. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Place the soaked rolls into the skillet and cook each side until golden brown, roughly 2–3 minutes per side.
  6. Serve hot, drizzled with maple syrup.

Notes

For a tropical twist, use coconut milk instead of regular milk or add chocolate chips to the egg mixture.
