Healthy Tuna Melt Chaffles

A delicious twist on the classic tuna melt, featuring crispy chaffles made from cheese and eggs for a low-carb delight.

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 can tuna, drained
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or oil for the waffle maker

Instructions

  1. Combine the shredded cheese, eggs, drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl and blend until well mixed.
  2. Preheat your waffle maker and lightly coat it with cooking spray or oil.
  3. Pour the mixture into the waffle maker, spreading it evenly.
  4. Close the lid and cook according to your waffle maker’s instructions for about 3-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Carefully remove the chaffles and serve warm, optionally with toppings like fresh tomato or avocado.

Notes

Experiment with different cheeses or substitute canned chicken for a variation. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
