Enjoy fluffy, buttery pancakes inspired by IHOP, perfect for a delicious breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Additional butter for cooking

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter in another bowl until well blended.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, and stir gently until just combined.
  4. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat, adding a small pat of butter.
  5. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
  6. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and edges look set, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Flip each pancake and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm with maple syrup, fresh berries, whipped cream, or chocolate chips.

Notes

For the fluffiest pancakes, avoid overmixing and let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes before cooking.
