Mini Croissants

Delightful mini croissants that elevate any meal or serve as a delicious snack, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1/4 cup cold cream cheese, cubed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and sugar.
  2. Use a pastry cutter or fork to cut in the cold butter and cream cheese until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually add the cold water and stir until a dough begins to come together.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  5. On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to your desired thickness. Then, cut into triangles.
  6. Starting at the base of each triangle, roll them up towards the point to form the classic croissant shape.
  7. Place each rolled croissant on a prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with beaten egg for that golden finish.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

Notes

For flakier results, ensure butter and cream cheese are very cold before mixing. You can substitute whole wheat flour or use dairy-free alternatives.
