Sausage and Egg Casserole

A crowded-pleaser casserole that combines savory sausage, fluffy eggs, and gooey cheese, perfect for brunch or family breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound sausage
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup bread cubes (optional)
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage until fully cooked, breaking it into smaller pieces as it cooks.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined and fluffy.
  4. Grease a baking dish and layer the cooked sausage at the bottom. If you’re using, add the bread cubes and mixed vegetables next.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layers in the dish, then sprinkle cheese on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until the eggs are set and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

This casserole is versatile; feel free to swap in turkey sausage or use a dairy-free option. Adding different spices or vegetables can enhance the flavor.
