Sausage, Egg, & Cheese McMuffin

A homemade version of the classic breakfast sandwich that’s filling, flavorful, and quick to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 1 English muffin
  • 1 breakfast sausage patty
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 slice of cheddar cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Butter, for toasting

Instructions

  1. Split the English muffin in half and toast it until golden brown.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage patty for about 3-4 minutes on each side until it’s fully cooked.
  3. Using the same skillet, crack an egg and cook it sunny-side up, or adjust it to your preference. Season with salt and pepper as it cooks.
  4. On the bottom half of your toasted muffin, layer the cooked sausage patty, followed by the egg, and then a slice of cheddar cheese.
  5. Top with the muffin’s other half and serve immediately.

Notes

Feel free to swap cheddar cheese for gouda or Swiss for a different flavor. You can add fresh spinach or sliced avocado for a nutritious twist.
