  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled sausage or bacon (optional)
  • Herbs and spices (like garlic powder, onion powder, or chives) to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl until well combined.
  3. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheese. Then add the eggs and milk. Mix until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in the cooked sausage or bacon along with any preferred herbs or spices if using.
  6. Scoop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out evenly.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool briefly before serving or storing.

Notes

These biscuits can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. They can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
