Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants

Delightful baked croissants stuffed with smoked cheddar and savory ham, brushed with a honey-mustard glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 mini croissants
  • 4 slices smoked cheddar cheese, halved
  • ¾ pound deli-cut ham
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg white
  • Poppy seeds, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Slice each croissant in half horizontally to create a top and bottom.
  3. On the bottom half of each croissant, place a half slice of smoked cheddar cheese.
  4. Layer a slice of ham on top of the cheese, then add another half slice of cheddar.
  5. Close the croissants with their top halves to form sandwiches.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, yellow mustard, honey, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth. Spread this mixture inside each croissant evenly.
  7. Arrange the sandwiches in the prepared baking dish.
  8. In another small bowl, whisk together the egg white with a splash of water. Brush the tops of the croissants with the egg wash and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the tops are golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and serve warm!
