Cinnamon Roll French Toast

The ultimate comfort food, combining cinnamon-swirled bread and a creamy custard mix into a warm, golden treat.

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 8 slices cinnamon swirl bread
  • Butter or oil for cooking
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for the glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for the glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth.
  2. Pour this custard mixture into a shallow dish.
  3. Dip each slice of cinnamon swirl bread into the egg mixture, soaking for a few seconds on each side.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter or oil.
  5. Cook each soaked slice until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to make the glaze.
  7. Drizzle the glaze over each slice before serving.

Notes

Avoid soaking the bread slices for too long to prevent sogginess. You can prepare the custard the night before.
