Healthy Greek Yogurt Bagels

A simple and healthy recipe for Greek yogurt bagels, perfect for breakfast or a snack.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (for topping, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the Greek yogurt and honey (if using) to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface until it’s smooth and elastic.
  5. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces.
  6. Roll each piece into a rope, then form it into a bagel by pinching the ends together.
  7. Place the bagels on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. If using, beat the egg and brush it over the bagels for a shiny finish.
  9. Sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds on top for extra flavor and crunch.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the bagels are golden brown.
  11. Allow them to cool slightly before enjoying. Serve with your favorite spread!

Notes

For variations, try adding herbs or folding in sun-dried tomatoes for an extra twist.
