High-Protein Banana Bread

A nutritious and delicious high-protein banana bread that’s perfect for brunch, snacks, or dessert.

  • 3 overripe bananas
  • 1 cup protein powder (whey or pea)
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 0.5 cups nut butter (optional)
  • 0.5 cups sweetener (e.g., maple syrup)
  • Mix-ins (optional, e.g., chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruits)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the three ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Stir in the protein powder, all-purpose flour, and baking powder until well combined.
  4. Add nut butter and sweetener (if using), stirring until smooth.
  5. Fold in any mix-ins gently, such as chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruits.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze individual slices for longer storage.
