Homemade Oatmeal

A comforting and versatile recipe for homemade oatmeal that can be customized with a variety of toppings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups water or milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Toppings of choice (e.g., fruits, nuts, honey, or cinnamon)

Instructions

  1. Start by bringing the 2 cups of water or milk to a rolling boil in a medium saucepan.
  2. Once boiling, add in the 1 cup of rolled oats and the 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
  3. Lower the heat and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. After cooking, remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit for a minute.
  5. Serve hot, and don’t forget to add your favorite toppings!

Notes

Store leftover oatmeal in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days. Reheat with a splash of water or milk.
